Center for Strategic and International Studies at University of Baghdad hosted the Chinese ambassador Chen Weiqing to deliver a lecture on the Chinese relations and the “Belt and Road” Initiative. The lecture included China’s call to develop work jointly in Iraq, policy coherence, business continuity and trade after 40 years of openness and development. During his lecture, Chen Weiqing shed light on the ancient history of China, the Silk Road and the need for giving it a sufficient importance as a cultural legacy. The Chinese ambassador stressed his country’s readiness to provide support to Iraq in the fields of energy since Iraq is one of the largest oil exporters and assistance in the reconstruction of infrastructure and the industrial production.
