Patent obtained by an instructor at the faculty of education (Ibn al-Haytham)

  Prof. Dr. Taghred Hashim al-Noor, an instructor in department of chemistry, faculty of education for pure sciences (Ibn al-Haytham) obtained a patent jointly with researchers in the department of chemistry of the university of Anbar, namely prof. Dr. Sabri Mohammed Hussein from the college of science, Dr. Omar Hamed Shihab from the college of education for women for their invention entitled “recycled tires and motor oils cars with clays of western area for manufacturing lightweight scrap” according to a book by the central organization for standardization and quality control at the ministry of planning, no. 3607 27/ 12/2015. This invention studies the possibility of recycling waste of worn-out automobile tires of different sizes and types and liquid waste of motor oils consumed through using local clays in western Iraq. The results showed the possibility of manufacturing high performance scrap with high operational properties for the purpose of disposal of solid and liquid pollutants harmful to environment that were either incinerated or dumped in rivers or soil, besides the very low cost of undertaking this with the use of locally available raw materials to create high value outputs.
