A number of professors of Russian language department at the college of languages, Baghdad University have contributed in translating the terms of the agreement signed between Iraq and the federal republic of Russia. Head of the department, assistant prof. Dr. Abdul Jabbar Mohsen al-Rubaie stated that the Iraqi foreign ministry sent an official request to the college of languages in which it expressed its need for the following professors of Russian language to work as translators: assistant prof. Dr. Abdul Jabbar Mohsen al-Rubaie, assistant prof. Dr. Yaseen Hamza Abas , assistant prof. Dr. Samer Akram Hussein, assistant prof. Dr. Tahsin Razak Aziz, assistant prof. Dr. Muna Arif Jassim, teacher Dr. Munther Mulla Kazim, teacher Dr. Ali Adnan Mshawash, and teacher Dr. Hisham Ali Hussein, teacher Dr. Ammar Audah Jwair for interpretation and translation of the convention’s terms and translating the opening speech by the chairperson of the Russian delegation Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Dimitri Gozin and the speech of the Iraqi side headed by foreign minister, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari. From his part, associate dean of foreign service institute, assistant prof. Dr. Haydar Najih Abu Shanah asserted that the work lasted for three consecutive days, culminating in the signing of this important convention which covered several areas including: oil, energy, health, transport, industry and trade. The translators showed a distinct activity so the ministry expressed its thanks and gratitude for their contribution in the effective translation of the minutes of the daily meetings of the common Iraqi-Russian commissions and this experience will be the beginning of opening prospects for cooperation with the department of Russian language.
