Specialist symposium entitled (Laser technologies in biomedical applications) at the institute of laser for graduate studies

Department of medical and biological applications at the institute of laser for graduate studies, Baghdad University organized a symposium entitled (Laser technologies in biomedical applications) where its rapporteur was head of department, Dr. Lutfi Ghulam Awazli, teacher Dr. Tamara Sardar Mohammed Saeed. Dr. Lutfi Awazli stated that cancer disease is defined as cell division and multiplication that can’t be controlled as the result of a defect in the dominant gene that lead to apoptosis (P53) and it is divided into two types: hard cancer that infects organs while the second is known as non-hard cancer that occurs in blood and lymph vessels. The lecturer quoted some modern statistics for cancer cases in the United States, reviewing the percentages for different categories of cancer, then a live TV lecture was broadcasted from Australian Macquarie University entitled (Nanoscale Biophotonics) delivered by assistant Prof. Ayad Ghazi Anwar who talked about Biophotonics which is a branch of Biophysics which studies techniques of production, physical control and sensing of photons in order to test live material and its chemical interactions and it is a word that generally describes the interaction within the living substance, whether chemical compound, cell, texture, electromagnetic radiation, absorption or proliferation. This event witnessed addressing some questions by the attendants and at the conclusion the dean of the institute of laser for graduate studies, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hadi Mutasher Abd thanked the lecturers wishing them all the best in their scientific career to serve our beloved country.
