President of University of Baghdad inspects Center for women’s studies and emphasizes on its importance as an important research formation

President of University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein inspected Center for women’s Studies during his 1st visit to this formation opened recently. The rector toured with the director of the center, Assistant Prof. Dr. Siham Mutasher al-Kaabi in departments and units, directing to provide the necessary requirements needed by the center to accomplish its scientific and research functions. Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein hinted to the importance of the center as the only important formation research dedicated for women at the level of Iraqi universities on one hand and the importance and women’s role and her life in societies in general and the Iraqi women in particular since they have endured the burdens of the family life in recent political conditions of Iraq as well as their role in different areas of practical life and assuming many leadership positions in the Iraqi State institutions in order to promote their reality. Prof. Dr. Siham Mutasher praised on her part these remarks, indicating at the same time the importance of workshops held at the center that endeavor to solve the Iraqi women problems under conditions of displacement and forced displacement at the hands of ISIS criminal gangs, along with making plans for addressing those problems after getting rid of these bands, as well as opening new prospects for cooperation with all governmental and non-governmental institutions concerned with women’s affairs in order to achieve one of the main objectives in serving the community. Siham al-Kaabi addressed also the constraints that facing the center, notably the need to accelerate the concerned authorities at the ministry of higher education and research for completing the official authentication of the center where the Baghdad University’ president promised to follow up this matter and resolve it as soon as possible, stressing the need to maintain this vital and important institution.
