College of Engineering Explains for its Students the Extents of the Twinning Agreement with Australian University

   Mr. Dean of the College of Engineering/Baghdad University Prof.Dr,Muhammad Qasim Dos met the students of the first stage in the Civil Engineering Department to explain the twinning agreement that has already been signed by the college with Australian University. At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean thanked the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for his support of the twinning project and explained for the audience that the college has worked hard for to open the ways of this leading experience .Since the department of Civil Engineering is the pride of the college of Engineering it was chosen to be the cornerstone of this experiment.

    The Dean continued explaining the twinning project where the first stage students will complement their studies in the college and the second and third stage at the Australian University then return to complete the fourth stage at the University of Baghdad so those who undergo this experience, their certificates will carry the logo of the University of Baghdad and the Australian University, therefore their certificates will carry the international accreditation which will help the students to equate their certificates when submitting to any international university. He also explained that the university has formed a committee to form the agreement with the Australian side and to arrange the necessary things to make the experiment successful.

    The Dean revealed that the department will select only 20% from the first stage students because the cost of study, travel. and accommodation will be on the part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Minister of the Higher Education and Scientific Research is the first supporter of this project .The criteria of competition will be for the first student who passed the first attempt and according to the average and passing the TOEFL.

    At the end of the meeting the students expressed their happiness of this experience, appreciating the role of the Minister of the Higher Education and Scientific Research, their University and their college of the great interest in increasing the scientific awareness of higher education and students to develop their ability to make such agreements promising the officials and their instructors to achieve the highest degrees of scientific excellence.
