Professor Dr. Zainab Ziad Ismail, an instructor from the department of environmental engineering at the college of engineering – University of Baghdad got a patent entitled (Biological preservative PVA- Arabic Gum). It is worth mentioned that the subject of this patent is part of doctoral thesis submitted by Haneen Ahmed Khudair and supervised by Prof. Dr. Zainab Ziad Ismail.  The research included using the technique of restricting the effective bacteria within certain preservatives to handle some types of pollutants discharged from oil industries which is an innovative and a very effective technology in dealing with environmental challenges represented by biological treatment of petroleum pollutants.
