The databases need to build the institutions of the Country

    Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Qasim Muhammed Daws the Dean of the College of Engineering and the vice chancellor of the scientific affairs Prof. Dr. Riad Aziz Hadi, and a number of deans and department heads and representatives of universities and gentlemen specialists. The Department of Computer Engineering established a symposium entitled “The databases need to build the institutions of the Country ” on Monday 30 – January -2012 at the Hall of Prof. Dr. Mehdi Hantoush in the Faculty of Engineering at University of Baghdad. Preparation prior to the seminar was coordinated by the Organization Committee for the Scientific Symposium, consisting of the Coordinator of the Computer Engineering Department Senior Lecturer Dr. Mohammed Issam Younis (Chairperson) and the Senior Lecturer Manal Fadel Younis and the Lecturer Ammar Osama and under direct supervision of the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, Associate Professor Hamid Muhammad Ali.

Opening of the Symposium

    The Symposium started with recitation from the Holy Quran scented read by Mr. Mohamed Abdul-Sahib. Next, read Al-Fatihah and standing on the souls of the martyrs. Then the Dean opening speech and expressed his pleasure that the Department of Computer Engineering is moving towards modernization and development, and praised the efforts of the department to keep up with the large revolution in Computer Engineering and urged the employees of the department to make more efforts to the needs of the country to modernization and to rely on modern technologies.

Scientific Lectures

A number of specialists and lecturers in the field of databases from the University of Baghdad and other government departments, presented the following lectures:

  • The impact of information technology on mobile applications
  • To develop information management systems
  • The most important difficulties and challenges that guide the adoption of database applications in a perfect state institutions
  • Sample database systems for the management of institutions (package management and access to documents of institutions)
  • Comparison of the most important existing databases

The shield of the symposium was delivered to the Dean ,the lecturers ,as well as the Head of the Computer Engineering Department and the Organization Committee.



Recommendations

   The Vice Chancellor of the Scientific Affairs and specialized lecturers praised to attend the themes as the content of the seminar was characterized by objectivity in the discussions, This discussions resulted in the adoption of databases and modern communications and the establishment of e-government and civil ID and overcome the difficulty of dealing with Arabic for the production of software. Also replacing the style routine paperwork in the transactions in a civilized manner as well as saving human resources and the completion of the work within time without routines. Finally, the adoption of the digital signature, smart cards with the databases in the institutions of the Country. By adopting these recommendations the economy of the country will be improved significantly.
