Seminar on the European Union and international crises at the center for strategic and international studies


Department of public policies held a seminar where Assistant Prof. Dr. khuloud Mohammed Khamis delivered a lecture entitled “EU and international crises: internal and external determinants” that addressed the crises affecting the European Union, including on the economic side and specifically Greece’s case, the force resisting the European unity, especially after a vote for Britain out of the EU as well as the immigration case that stands as one of the challenges facing the European Union becoming a source of danger and a threat to European security. Al these matters resulted in several phenomena such as the organized crime, drug trafficking and religious extremism. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali submitted a paper entitled “the challenges experienced by young people after 2003” that discussed the Iraqi youth conditions and increased rates of unemployment and the absence of government support for investing in youth. It is worth mentioning that a number of conferences were held on the problems experienced by young people that recommended expanding employment opportunities to absorb unemployment and the need to amend the election law to include youth segments so as to contribute in decision making and drafting laws that would improve this important segment.
