Symposium at the center for urban and regional planning on marshes architecture
The center for urban and regional planning for postgraduate studies at University of Baghdad held a symposium entitled (Marshes architecture: a sustainable society and development of sustainable architecture) in collaboration with Dhi Qar Center for marshes projects at al-Jabayish district and urban planning department at this province. The symposium addressed the topic of the Iraqi marshes in light of their ecological importance as well as their economic, physical and aesthetic properties. The participants called for efforts of professionals and intellectuals in this field, especially the civil society organizations so as to develop a detailed new outline to handle and protect these natural resources in accordance with international standards to reach at a greater sustainability.
