Faculty of fine arts at University of Baghdad launched its 31th annual theatre festival under the slogan “victorious home and glamorous theatre” at Pioneer Theatre Hall, attended by a large gathering of academics, artists and students. Dean of the college Prof. Dr. Qasim Munis confirmed during his speech the role of the Iraqi theatre in implanting the new educational, academic and creative orientations for our people in accordance with the dreams and ambitions of our youth through promising works of art based on the spirit of tolerance and peace in our beloved country, so this is the mission of our theater. Director of the festival Assistant Prof. Dr. Farhan Omran, head of the department of theatrical arts delivered a speech in which he addressed the young dramatists and their role in life-making through their beautiful performances which is the fruit of academic knowledge. Then a play named “Emperor Gonzalo” was presented and directed the student Ali Abdul Hussein followed by a play named “hunger and thirst” directed by the student Salwan Hilal.
