College of arts participates in the 3rd periodic meeting of Waladu Project at the University of Munich


The college of arts at University of Baghdad participated in the 3rd periodic meeting of Waladu Project sponsored by the University of Munich, a partner of the European Union project. The delegation was headed by the Associate Rector for scientific affairs, Prof. Dr. Osama Fadil Abdul Latif accompanied by the dean of the college of arts Prof. Dr. Salah Flaifl Aid al-Jaberi, head of department of antiquities Prof. Dr. Nawala Ahmed al-Mitwali and the administrative coordinator of the delegation Assist. Prof. Dr. Leith Majeed Hussein. The delegation discussed during its meetings the most effective ways to benefit from Waladu Project to develop the teaching staff, students of elementary and higher studies and updating curricula in Iraqi universities. The participating delegation visited several German research institutions, universities and met the director of East Department at the German Antiquities Institute and Prof. Roger Matthew from University of Reading in Britain along with some archaeologists from University of Innsbruck, Austria. This meeting comes in conjunction with the 11th  International Conference on Archaeology in the Near East that witnessed a global presence to address matters related to archaeology and cultural heritage in Near East during prehistoric eras.
