Dean of the college of arts at University of Baghdad Prof. Dr. Salah Flaifel Ayed al-Jabri met Mr. Cyrill Nunn, ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Iraq. At this meeting, the two sides discussed prospects of joint cooperation that might contribute to the development of the college’ scientific potential and its laboratories, as well as ways of future cooperation between German scientific institutions and University of Baghdad. This meeting was attended by the Dean Associate for scientific affairs and postgraduate studies, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdul Wahid Mahmoud. On other sidelines, the German ambassador visited the Iraqi German archaeological and Assyrian Center at the college to keep abreast with the scientific research carried there. It is worth mentioned that the college has recently opened up a reading hall for borrowing books electronically for the purpose of global communication and developing a technical and administrative system between the library of the college and that of Heidelberg University and the Iraqi-German archaeological and cuneiform Institute at the Federal Republic of Germany.
