President of Baghdad University Receives Korean Ambassador and his Delegation in Iraq


  Mr. President of the University of Baghdad Prof. Dr. Alaa’ Abdulhussein Abdulrasul received the Korean Ambassador Hyun Myunc in Iraq and his delegation, which included Mr. Kwok Park President of the Korean Foundation of Advanced Studies and a number of diplomats at the Korean Embassy. Mr. president welcomed the guests and presented a brief overview about the history of the University of Baghdad and its colleges and the number of students in the undergraduate and postgraduate studies, and the size of faculty members and administrative staff.

  The Korean ambassador and Korean head of the institution referred to the good relations between Baghdad University and Korean institutions and the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2011 and offered their sincere thanks for the warm reception.President of the Korean Foundation of Advanced Studies has suggested the foundation of Center for Asian Studies, which includes various sciences where this institution includes 17 centers in East Asian countries, pointing out that there are a number of Korean universities looking to sign memorandums of understanding with the University of Baghdad. An invitation was directed to Mr. President of the University of Baghdad to visit the mentioned institution in addition to visiting Korean universities and Mr. president promised to study the project and submitted it to the University Council and the Ministry for the purpose of making the right decision regarding the implementation of the project, thanking at the same time the Korean Ambassador and President of the Korean Foundation for the invitation and promised to accept it on the proper time. Both Assistant president of Academic Affairs Dr. Alaa’ Karim Mohammed and Dr. Sabah Mohammed Abbas, the director of cultural relations at the university attended the meeting.
