The conference of Iraqi medical competencies

Under the patronage of the prime minister, Mr. Nuri al-Maliki and with the participation of Prof. Dr. Nabil Abdul Fattah Hator, dean of the college of dentistry at the university of Baghdad and in collaboration with the faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing, the annual scientific conference  (conference of the Iraqi medical competencies) was held at the medical city in 2013 at the Hall of the martyr Dr. Darb Mahdi al-Moussawi. Twenty-five Arab and foreign physicians participated from outside Iraq, including Jordan, Qatar, Egypt, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, England, Pakistan and U.S. and nearly 130 scientific sober researches were received besides holding scientific sessions chaired by Prof. Dr. Nabil Abdul Fattah with participation of professors and specialists at the college specialized in orthodontic and surgery, implant and treatment of oral diseases. In the same context scientific sessions and workshops were held at Baghdad educational hospital at the branch of surgery, esoteric and urinary surgery. The aim of this conference is to achieve a quantum leap in the field of medical education for primary and higher studies as well as advancement of treatment provided to patients, developing new technologies with respect to the hospitals and the centers of the medical city and using new medical technologies in various specialties. The prime minister gave special attention to this area, especially providing financial allocations, increasing financial  powers, supplying medicines and medical devices and supplies and stressing on the necessity of the return of the Iraqi medical competencies back to home.
