The faulty of medicine participates in an international workshop to assess obstetric services

The faculty of medicine at the university of Baghdad participated in the training course held by the ministries of health at Baghdad and Kurdistan in collaboration with Columbia university, American university in Beirut with the support of the united nations fund for residents for training college data collectors for assessing emergent obstetric and newborn services. The college participated through assistant Dr. Ahmed Samir al-Naimi who reviewed how the international experts from Columbia university train the data collectors.  Trainees will undergo several subsequent exercises in four training centers, Kirkuk, Baghdad, Najaf, Basra while the trainees of Kurdistan would undergo just one training course in each province. This medical practice is considered the first in Iraq that will serve as a comprehensive assessment covering hospitals and health centers depended on the method of the survey to strengthen and plan the medical services. The workshop attended by a group of doctors and advanced health teams that have significant experience in the field of training, supervisors on such services from the two ministries, the representative of UNICEF and a number of local university experts from Hawler medical university.
