University of Baghdad gets the first position on Iraqi level and the third position on the Arab level in physics Olympics at Oman


The college of science at the university of Baghdad got the first position on the Iraqi level and the third one on the association of Arab universities in physics Olympics held in Sultan Qaboos university, Oman, within the tenth annual meeting of the association of colleges of science. The delegation of the university of Baghdad was headed by dean of the college of science, prof. Dr. Salih Mahdi Ali, head of the department of physics prof. Dr. Raad Mohammed Saleh al-Haddad and two students from the fourth grade: Maha Nathim Adnan and Aia Hassan Mohamed. The competition was carried out through a written test in the various fields of physics with the participation of the Iraqi universities (Baghdad, Basra, Mosul) as well as many universities from other Arab countries. Concerning this international forum, the two students confirmed that “This Olympics is an opportunity to meet students from other Arab universities in the field of physics and we had the honor to represent the university of Baghdad to get to first position in Iraq and the third one in the Arab world, not only through our efforts but with those of our college and department”. They thanked their instructors at the department of physics and their colleges and parents for supporting and encouraging them, adding “this competition has added much to us to raise the level of our beloved country and our honored university for the purpose of promoting knowledge”. The students,  Maha Nathim Adnan and Aia Hassan Mohamed dedicated this winning to university, to department of physics and to all professors, expressing the intent to complete their graduate study in physics.
