With the sponsorship of the president of the university of Baghdad, prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hussein Abdul Rasul and on the occasion of the start of the new academic year, the general secretariat of the central library held scientific and academic book fair with the participation of a number of Arab and Iraqi publishing houses represented by al-Hashimi house, al-Dhakira house, al-Baian house and the Arab house of encyclopedias as well as al-Mamoon house for printing, publishing and translation. This fair was attended by a number of professors, researchers and university students to keep abreast with books and encyclopedias and it is considered as one of the steps made by the central library to support the scientific process in our country. In the same context and under the slogan: “Imam Hussein as the source of scientific and educational tender” and on the occasion of the annual cultural festival of Ashura, assistant of the president of university for scientific affairs, prof. Dr. Osama Fadhil Abdul Latif and the representative of the general secretariat of Abbasid threshold, Sheikh Kamal al-Karbalaei and hid deputy, engineer Bashir opened the book fair held by Abbasid, Husayniyah, Alawi and Kadhimiya threshold on the corridors of the general secretariat of the central library attended by a number of Saids and Sheikhs in addition to a number of the distinguished professors.
