Al-Khwarizmi college of engineering arranged a scientific visit for students to Southern Baghdad electric power station

  Department of mechatronics engineering at al-Khwarizmi college of engineering, university of Baghdad arranged a scientific visit for the students of the third and fourth stages to the thermal electric power station, South of Baghdad. This visit came within a series of applied scientific visits and field trips organized by the college under the supervision of faculty members of the department, Dr. Maher Yahya Salloum and assistant teacher Dina Saedi to contribute in development of practical reality that contribute to keep abreast with academic information and delivering them directly in line with the technological development happening in the developed world. This visit had achieved scientific benefits through identifying station departments, particularly operating, mechanics, electricity, self-monitoring, industrial safety and treatment, as well as field trips to learn how to deal with industrial developments, operation of machinery, equipment, production lines for electricity generating, steam boilers and power distribution for the capital “Baghdad”. At the end of the visit, the scientific director of the power plant, welcomed the professors and students of the college, wishing that their tour had achieved its scientific benefit that would be reflected in their field work after graduation in a way that may contribute in addressing the imbalances by interleave of theoretical and practical fields. Then faculty of mechatronics department expressed their thanks and gratitude for the engineers at the station who provided students with their work expertise and who expressed their readiness to receive students from other academic stages at Baghdad thermal electric station.
