A scientific research team from the department of field crops in the college of agriculture, university of Baghdad undertook a field visit to the research station belonging to the ministry of agriculture, within the national program for the development of the cultivation of wheat in Iraq in the province of Diwaniyah / Al-Noria. This visit came to strengthen scientific aspects within the national program for the development of the cultivation of wheat in Iraq, particularly in the development of technological aspects in agriculture, crop production, the use of fertilizers that combat jungles in wheat fields in Diwaniyah. This scientific research team consisted of assistant teacher Saddam Hatem Abdul Rahim, prof. Dr. Ressan Karim Shati who kept abreast of the reality of the station established this year to conduct research and studies on wheat, as well as diagnosing bushes in that region and determining the appropriate date for combating them. The team discussed with those concerned for developing the program, to achieve wheat self-sufficiency, creating the spirit of competition with the rest of the country by using several methods such as distribution of Potassium sulphate and stressing on allocating sufficient space to establish research stations in desert areas. The visit included discussing the national program in the season before last year for cultivation of 30,000 acres, in 2014-2015 season, cultivating (80) acres and for the next season, 2015-2016, cultivating more than 230 thousand acres (within the wheat plan in the province).
