The department of biology at the college of science for women, university of Baghdad held a lecture entitled “Bad usage of drugs and addiction” delivered by prof. Uday Khalid Abdul Jabar psychiatric specialist at Al-Nahrain university that provided a definition of the term “addiction” which is considered as a bad use of medical drugs, alcohol, nicotine or prescription of illegal substances like morphine and amphetamine causes of addiction are personal reasons or psychological pressure or biological. The lecturer stated that that the reasons behind this can be personal, biological or psychological pressure, so that awareness methods should be used for prevention and treatment, such as providing lectures and educational guidance, as well as adopting behavioral treatment or rehabilitation program for addicts.
